Northwest Arkansas’s First ENERGY STAR® Certified Pocket Neighborhood Opens In Fayetteville

11th Street Cottages, the first ENERGY STAR® Certified pocket neighborhood featuring net-zero homes in Northwest Arkansas, is now open near Walker Park in Fayetteville.

  • Energy Efficient: All nine homes in the development were designed with high-performance systems, making them significantly more energy-efficient than typical new homes built to Fayetteville code. As an infill pocket neighborhood, the 11th Street Cottages are arranged around a shared central courtyard and common garden rich with Arkansas native plants.

  • Net Zero: Two of the cottages are net-zero homes, meaning they will generate as much energy as they consume, thanks to solar arrays featuring 12 panels on each roof. The other seven homes are also expected to save homeowners between $55 and $100 per month on utility bills.

Over 400 Community Leaders Gathered Last Week For The 2024 C3 Summit

Over 400 attendees gathered at the Fayetteville Public Library last Thursday for the 6th Annual C3 Summit to discuss ways to impact lasting change in our community. C3 stands for “Celebrate, Connect, and Capacity Building.”

  • Invaluable Insights: Over 260 organizations, including for-profits, education, healthcare, and more, were represented at the summit this year. The event included an assessment of the region’s greatest needs based on Hark’s data, structured networking sessions, and a keynote from Shantell Hinton-Hill from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation about ALICE in Arkansas.

  • Shaping Community: The afternoon was packed with breakout sessions, a happy hour with live music by King Chicken, and several awesome giveaways — Helping Hands of Benton County received the Hark Impact Award and $25,000.

View a photo recap of the event HERE.

P.S. You’ve got to see the huge smile on the face of one attendee who won a brand-new 2025 Specialized Hybrid bike after losing her own bike a few months ago in the tornados. 😊
