Housing Market in NWA Maintains Resilience While Affordability Concerns Continue

The latest Skyline Report highlighted a strong real estate market in Northwest Arkansas with increased home sales, rising prices, and low multifamily vacancy rates. Unfortunately, that also means housing affordability remains a concern.

  • Record high: The first half of 2024 saw a record high of 1,896 new construction homes sold at an average price of $399,344.

  • Concerns remain: Despite the market's strength, there are concerns about the 72.5% increase in home prices and 48.9% increase in average apartment rent over the past five years, leading to the need for more affordable housing options.
