Seven Must Try Wing Spots In Northwest Arkansas
NWA Daily's Guide to some top-notch places to find delicious chicken wings.
Chicken wing lovers, this one's for you. We’ve scoured the region to bring you a recommendation on Northwest Arkansas’s must-try wing spots. From the best hole-in-the-wall stops to unlikely wing masters, here are a few places to sink your teeth into some unforgettable wings.
As with all of our food posts, anything flavor-related is subject to subjectivity, BUT if you think we missed an obvious spot, head over to our post on Facebook and let us know! We can disagree on flavor as long as we all agree that boneless wings don’t count… that’s a chicken nugget, buddy.
Alright. Put on your bibs, folks. Here we go…
Ultimate Hole-In-The-Wall Wings
Tucked into the back corner of Oak Plaza off Garland Ave in Fayetteville, Lucky Luke’s is one of the best BBQ joints in town. The menu features a great selection of hickory smoked meats, but the award-winning wings are what we’re here for. The wings come BBQ, Buffalo, or Naked and there’s a great selection of sauces to try at the table. Lucky Luke’s hosts Wing Wednesdays with 99¢ wings and $5 PBR pitchers from 4-9p.
Best Non-BBQ Joint Wings
The Rail: A Pizza Company
I know it’s a pizza joint… but have you had the wings? These wood-fired-to-perfection bites of poultry come tossed in your choice of sauce: Parmesan Marinara, Alfredo, Garlic Parmesan, Spicy BBQ, Thai, or Lousiana Hot. It’s the Garlic Parm and Louisiana Hot for us.
*It’s not a chicken wing, but worth mentioning… the Pork Shanks, or Pig Wings, are a wonderful choice here, too.
Savoriest Smoky Wings
Beach BBQ
Beach BBQ has a great menu of smoky flavors, including brisket and pulled pork, but their smoked wings aren’t to be missed. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection, they're a must-try on your chicken wing pilgrimage. Whether you're a fan of classic BBQ flavors or looking for something with a bit more kick, Beach BBQ has you covered. If anyone’s asking, the spicy dry rub is the way to go.
Perfect Post-Ride Pub Wings
While the pub is mostly famous for its wood-fired pizzas, their fried wings are a must-try. Served hot and spicy, BBQ, or garlic parmesan (our favorite), they’re so good, they’ll have you ordering the 12-count…. and not to share. And as with all the items on the menu at Pedaler’s Pub, it’s going to state 10x better if you’re chowing down after a good bike ride.
Most Welcome Outta-Towner Wings
📍417 W Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Fayetteville
Central BBQ
Central BBQ has been a long-time favorite when passing through Memphis. So, their expansion to Fayetteville was well welcomed. The smoked hot wings come whole and hearty, and the Dry Spice is the suggested move here.
Most Buffed-Up Buffalo Wing
📍 Locations in Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville, Bella Vista, and on Dickson St.
JJ’s Grill
JJ’s Grill offers flavors like BBQ, buffalo, jasmine, or nuclear, but the real winner is the Edwin Style. It’s a dry wing marinated in buffalo sauce before it’s fried so that buffalo flavor gets down to the bone. If you’re a real buffalo freak, go ahead and get ‘em tossed in buffalo one more time just to make a point.
Favorite Fast Food Wings
📍All Over, but the OG is at 2120 N. College Ave, Fayetteville
I hesitate to add a fast food chain to the list, BUT since Ol’ Slim began its international growth from humble beginnings in Fayetteville, we’ll consider it local. In terms of fast food wings, Slim Chickens can hang with the best of them. Spicy BBQ is the move for your sauce pick, if anyone’s asking.
