I’m Taxed: To help you save a little extra while checking off your school supply list, we put together everything you need to know about Arkansas’ upcoming Sales Tax Holiday, happening Saturday, Aug 1, through Sunday, Aug 2.

A+ Savings: During the weekend, shoppers can skip state and local sales taxes on items like clothing, footwear, school supplies, and more.

Small Biz: The event will be a kid-powered marketplace where young entrepreneurs run their own booths selling handmade goods, crafts, treats, and more.

Small But Mighty: The event will also have interactive experiences hosted by local kid-centric businesses.

Read To A Cat, Take Home A Book: Kids are invited to bring a book into one of the free-roaming cat rooms to read to adoptable cats, with the Little Free Library stocked with titles for readers of all ages and located in the center's lobby for ongoing community use.

Adoption Fees Waived All August: The celebration also doubles as a reminder that adoption fees are completely waived throughout the month of August.

Hotel, Motel: The boutique hotel will feature 85 motor lodge-style rooms ranging from 250 to 700 square feet.

New Hang Out Spot: Planned amenities include a pool courtyard, grill area, small amphitheater, fitness and wellness spaces, plus a new lobby with a coffee-and-cocktail bar expected to open in early 2027.

Dive Right In: Guests can watch The SpongeBob Movie: The Search for SquarePants starting around 8:45p, while enjoying the large pool area during the showing.

Free Fun: Admission is free. There will be free popcorn, snowcones, and water. Capacity is limited to the first 600 guests, so make sure to arrive early!
