Back-to-school shopping is about to get a little cheaper.
Arkansasβ annual Sales Tax Holiday returns Saturday, Aug 1, through Sunday, Aug 2, giving shoppers a chance to skip state and local sales tax on qualifying items for 48 hours.
Whether youβre stocking up on school supplies, refreshing the kidsβ wardrobes, or checking items off a classroom list, hereβs whatβs included:
π Clothing & shoes
Clothing and footwear priced under $100 per item
Clothing accessories and equipment priced under $50 per item
βοΈ School essentials
School supplies
School art supplies
School instructional materials

Certain electronic devices commonly used by students for schoolwork are also eligible.
A few things to keep in mind:
Thereβs no limit on how many qualifying items you can buy.
Items over the price thresholds wonβt qualify for the exemption.
Arkansas retailers are required to participate if they sell eligible items.
So, if your back-to-school checklist is still looking a little long, this weekend could be the perfect time to knock it out and keep a little extra cash in your pocket.
