Springdale’s Newest Park Attraction: The Gerald Harp Memorial Treehouse Park

The Springdale Rotary Club dedicated the Gerald Harp Memorial Treehouse Park on Monday at the Randal Tyson Recreational Complex.

  • In Memory Of: The Treehouse Park addition was made possible with Springdale Rotary fundraising, $250,000 City of Springdale funds approved by the City Council, and other private funds. Its namesake, Gerald Harp, was the former president of the Springdale Rotary Club who passed away in 2020.

  • Among The Trees: The Gerald Harp Memorial Treehouse Park is an interconnected group of seven treehouses. Nearly 100 students from the Springdale School District attended the ribbon cutting and were the first to enjoy the Treehouse Park experience!

NWACC Seeks Community’s Help In Building Beds For Children in Need

NWACC

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is calling for volunteers to help build and deliver beds for children in need through a partnership with the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace this Friday, Oct 25, from 1-7p.

  • Building A Bedder Future: Sleep in Heavenly Peace estimates that nearly 3% of children in the U.S. are affected by “bedlessness,” including 495 kids in Bentonville alone.

  • On The Line: Volunteers will gather at NWACC’s Integrated Design Lab in Bentonville, where stations will be set up like a factory: miter saws cutting to length, a station to mark all the holes for drilling, drill presses set up to drill the holes, sanding crews, etc. The goal is to construct at least 80 hand-made beds and deliver them to local kids.

No experience is needed. Sign up to volunteer HERE.
