The Slobbering Hog Is Center Court At Bud Walton Once More

The Slobbering Hog is officially back on Nolan Richardson Court at Bud Walton Arena, adding to an already electric energy surrounding the upcoming basketball season under new head coach John Calipari.

  • Retro Razorback: The Slobbering Hog became the official logo of the University of Arkansas athletics in 1997. It was replaced by a sleeker-looking, modern logo in 2001, but it has maintained popularity with fans for decades and is still widely used on team merch.

  • Ready To Rumble: Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek promised to return the iconic logo to center court if fans matched a $500K donation to the Arkansas Edge NIL collective. Thanks to a late six-figure donation, a Justin Moore benefit concert, and a huge number of fan contributions, the goal was met, and the promise was kept!

Hop On Over To The 35th Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump

A local tradition that’s about as Ozarkian as it gets, the Pea Ridge Mule Jump returns for its 35th year this Saturday, Oct 12, at 9a.

  • What’s A Mule Jump? It’s exactly what it sounds like — a contest to see whose mule can jump the highest. It’s like reverse limbo for that tougher-than-nails offspring of a donkey and a horse. Take it from someone who attended several as a kid… it’s kinda awesome.

  • Hop To It: In addition to the mule jump, the event will feature a car show, stick horse races, and a hog-calling competition. Plus, nearly 100 local vendors will be present with food and drink options, handmade goods, and more! Tickets to the mule jump are $5 per person, $2 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under.
