The 808 Ranch Expands with 1,000 Acre Cattle Ranch in Pea Ridge

The 808 Ranch, a black Angus operation in SW Missouri led by nationally recognized cattle expert Lamar Steiger and his wife Shari Shewmaker Steiger, is launching a new chapter in NWA with the announcement of a 1,000-acre ranch just outside Pea Ridge.
Tied To The Land: The new 808 Ranch at the Ridge location sits on property that’s been in the Steiger family for over 50 years and marks a commitment to keeping agricultural roots strong in Pea Ridge. With their nephew set to manage the site, the expansion blends local heritage with long-term vision.
Local Herd, Global Impact: Steiger’s Precision Genetics program has influenced black Angus ranching worldwide by focusing on improving cattle health and reducing environmental impact—a science-driven approach that is helping reshape the future of sustainable beef.

Infrastructure
NWA Planners Seek Community Feedback on Future Infrastructure Plans
The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission is inviting the community to contribute to Forward2050, a long-range transportation plan that will guide infrastructure investments for the decades ahead.
Planning Ahead: Every five years, NWARPC updates its regional transportation plan to identify priorities for streets, transit, freight, aviation, and active transportation, ensuring the region remains connected, accessible, and resilient. This is especially important as our region prepares for a projected population of 1 million by 2050.
Public Input Needed: Two public input sessions will be held to field input from the community: Wednesday, Apr 9, from 4-7p at the Fayetteville Public Library (with Spanish and Marshallese interpreters), and Thursday, Apr 10, from 4-7p at the Bentonville Public Library.
