From Family Land to 1,000-Acre Cattle Ranch
The 808 Ranch Expands to Northwest Arkansas with New "Ridge” Location

The 808 Ranch
A legacy of ranching and innovation is starting a new chapter in Northwest Arkansas as Lamar and Shari Steiger, the husband-and-wife duo behind The 808 Ranch, have announced the expansion of their cattle operation to a sprawling 1,000-acre property between Pea Ridge and Bentonville—land that’s been in their family since 1970.
While it may seem like just another land deal, the project combines a deep family connection to the land with thoughtful plans for the future of agriculture in the region and beyond through its use of Precision Genetics.

Bringing the Herd to Arkansas’s Hills

The new location, aptly named The 808 Ranch at the Ridge, will serve as a sister site to the Steigers’ current 600-acre ranch in Southwest Missouri. The Arkansas land, once part of the well-known Jac’s Ranch along Highway 72, is set to carry forward the family’s legacy of high-quality black Angus cattle and cutting-edge ranching methods.
Although full development plans haven’t been disclosed, the Steigers shared that the property will be brought online in phases. Most of 2025 will be spent allowing the land to rest and regenerate, with minimal infrastructure updates expected during the first year. Over time, the land will be transformed into an extension of The 808 Ranch’s renowned Precision Genetics program.
Precision Genetics is a protocol developed by Lamar Steiger to consistently measure and breed top-tier black Angus cattle. It blends sustainable ranching practices, animal-friendly technology, and nutrition strategies rooted in four generations of ranching experience. The result? Healthier animals, better beef, and a more environmentally conscious operation.
Steiger’s background goes well beyond his ranching roots. He’s an agricultural consultant who’s worked with Walmart and Sam’s Club to improve their beef supply chains, advises ag-tech companies, and is a frequent speaker on the global stage. He also founded Ranch2Retail, a Rogers-based beef supply chain company working to connect consumers more directly to high-quality beef products.

A Family Affair and a Community Connection

The Steigers’ expansion is more than a business move, it’s deeply personal. Lamar and Shari, a third-generation ranching family, see the Ridge property as a chance to continue a heritage that blends innovation with stewardship. Their nephew, Sam Steiger, will manage the new location, continuing the family’s hands-on approach.
Local leaders are also enthusiastic. Pea Ridge Mayor Nathan See praised the announcement, noting that Jac’s Ranch has long been a fixture in the area.
“Agriculture is such an essential part of our city and our heritage,” said Mayor See. “Knowing the Steigers have committed to preserving the area's ag legacy and landscape continues to show their support for our community.”
While it may be a quiet first year for the Ridge location, the vision is big. The 808 Ranch at the Ridge will play a vital role in shaping the next era of agriculture in Northwest Arkansas—one that honors tradition, embraces innovation, and keeps ranching in the family.
