Answering the CALL to Foster Care in Northwest Arkansas

The CALL in NWA

Every day, more than 450 children are in foster care across NWA, and local families are stepping up to love and support them during their time of need through The CALL in NWA.

  • Community-Backed Care: The CALL, a nonprofit working to recruit and support foster families in Arkansas, partners with the community through Blessing Baskets, Resource Closets, and Visitation Spaces to ensure families feel equipped and encouraged.

  • Your Gift Makes a Difference: A $50 donation feeds a foster family, $100 fills a Blessing Basket, $250 stocks a Resource Closet, and $500 outfits a warm Visitation Space. Every contribution brings comfort and connection to those who need it most.

Help Canopy Extend ‘The Long Welcome’ to Refugee Families in NWA

Canopy NWA

Imagine leaving everything and everyone you know, to build a new life for yourself and your family in Northwest Arkansas. Canopy NWA steps in to help refugees resettle and establish a future in their new home.

  • Building Futures: Canopy’s “The Long Welcome” program goes beyond resettlement, offering career support, youth programming, maternal healthcare access, and community connection to help newcomers thrive and contribute to the larger community within five years of arrival.

  • Twice the Giving: Join Canopy in its goal to raise $35,000 to support The Long Welcome. With a generous matching grant in place, every dollar donated will be doubled, meaning twice the support for families finding their footing and future right here in Arkansas’s backyard.

Let’s Make Northwest Arkansas The Most Generous Place on Earth!

NWA Gives is here! This annual official day of giving is the most widespread community effort to support nonprofits and their causes across Northwest Arkansas.

  • Built on Generosity: Since the first NWA Gives in 2018, the annual 12-hour giving event has helped raise nearly $4.2M for more than 500 local nonprofits. It’s also grown into a year-round support network, providing fundraising training and world-class resources to nonprofits in NWA.

  • Every Gift Matters: From homeless shelters to community literacy initiatives, there’s a local cause out there that’s sure to resonate with your heart. And whether it is a multimillion-dollar professionally run institution or a small 100% volunteer-run charity, local nonprofits can’t accomplish their missions without the community’s support.

Arkansas’s First Medical Respite Program for People Experiencing Homelessness

Imagine recovering from surgery in a tent or having to rinse stitches in a creek. That is often the reality for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Until A Place to Heal opened its doors.

  • A Place to Heal: Created by New Beginnings in partnership with Washington Regional, A Place to Heal is Arkansas’s first medical respite program for individuals without housing. The site offers private cabins, medical care, and case management so patients can recover with dignity and support.

  • Mission & Vision: New Beginnings' mission is to provide housing and support for those recovering from chronic homelessness. Last year, 19 people found healing through its medical respite program. This year’s goal is 40. Your donations support nurse care, meals, and internships for UA and JBU medical students, creating a full-circle model of care.

Preserving the Land That We Love for Future Generations

Northwest Arkansas is growing fast. So fast that we’re losing about 3,285 acres of open space every year—that’s an area larger than Devil's Den State Park! But one local group is working to keep our natural beauty intact.

  • Preserve & Protect: The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust partners with landowners and cities to permanently protect land for clean water, wildlife, family farms, and outdoor recreation. So far, they've conserved over 9,000 acres across seven counties.

  • Trails, Trees, and Trust: NWALT also manages six public preserves in Benton and Washington counties. These preserves offer space for hiking, biking, birding, and peaceful exploration, ensuring that nature stays part of our everyday lives as residents of the Natural State.

Help protect the places that make NWA special for generations to come HERE.
