Halloween is in the rearview, and midterm elections are about to pass after Election Day on Tuesday, Nov 3, which means it’s time to figure out where to place old pumpkins and election signs from your yard.
Instead of tossing them, you can drop off both for recycling at local spots across the region throughout November. The guide below features where to take them.

🎃 Pumpkin Drop-Off
When your pumpkins start getting a little too scary, bring them to a drop-off site. Food Recycling Solutions will pick them up and take them to the Fayetteville Compost Facility. There they’ll be turned into compost for local plants, gardens, and soil next spring.

What to look for: A red food waste cart

Boston Mountain Solid Waste District: 11398 Bond Road, Prairie Grove | Mondays-Fridays from 7a-3p and Saturdays 8-11a
Farmington City Hall: 354 W Main St, Farmington
Springdale Recycling Drop-off: 1809 S Lowell Road, Springdale | Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8a-4p
Note: Natural pumpkins only. That means no paint, decorations, stickers, or glue. Make sure to double-check operating hours for each location, as some did not list operating hours.
🗳️ Election Sign Drop-Off
Several locations across the area are offering election sign recycling after Election Day wraps up on Tuesday, Nov 3. Campaign signs, other corrugated plastic signs, and metal stands are all accepted.
