Underwoods Earns 1st Place in Jewelers of America National Design Competition
Fayetteville-based jeweler Underwoods Fine Jewelers wins award for creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design
Underwoods Fine Jewelers of Fayetteville took top honors in the Retailer Jewelry category for pieces valued between $2,001 and $5,000 at the annual jewelry design competition hosted by Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for the fine jewelry industry.
Underwoods competed among over 120 jewelers in the competition. The CASE Awards recognizes the creativity, artistry, style, and excellence in jewelry design from top jewelers across the nation. All entries were evaluated by a panel of expert judges to determine a winner in each category.
The winning Underwoods piece was a custom 18k yellow gold hand-forged ring featuring a spectacular 8.17ct square checkerboard amethyst center stone that is bezel set in a compass orientation. Six fully cut diamonds are channel set on the shank. They are all ideally cut, have a color grade of 1.0, a clarity grade of 5, and a total weight of .54cts. |
“Year after year, Jewelers of America’s CASE Awards design competition shines a spotlight on custom design and exceptional craftsmanship from Jewelers of America Members nationwide. Underwoods Fine Jewelers visionary design and creativity have rightfully earned them the top prize in the category in this year's design competition,” says JA spokesperson Amanda Gizzi.
Underwoods Fine Jewelers is a member of Jewelers of America, the national association for fine jewelry businesses with the most reputable jewelers in the United States, who are backed by a commitment to Jewelers of America’s Code of Professional Practices.
Though not for sale, the winning piece is on display, along with a handful of other award-winning custom pieces at Underwoods Fine Jewelers’ gem lab and showroom at 611 W Dickson St. in Fayetteville.
