Bentonville Turns Up The Intensity For An Adrenaline-Packed September First Friday

Downtown Bentonville’s First Friday celebration returns this weekend, including a full day of activities, live music, great food, and community fun on Friday, Sep 6, from 11a-9p.

  • High Flying Fun: September’s First Friday theme is Adrenaline, featuring heart-pounding entertainment like The Globe of Death, a motorcycle performing stunts inside a giant metal ball, and the GB1 Game Bird aerobatic airplane performing aerial stunts in the skies above the Square.

3rd Annual Maker Faire NWA Highlights Local Artists And Innovators

The 3rd annual Maker Faire NWA will bring a day-long celebration of creativity, learning, and innovation to the Fayetteville Public Library this Saturday, Sep 7, from 9a-5p!

  • Looks Like We Made It: Known as the “greatest show-and-tell on earth,” Maker Faire is a worldwide trend of gathering engineers, artists, scientists, and crafters to display their hobbies, experiments, and projects. The Maker Faire NWA is presented by the Fayetteville Public Library and its Center for Innovation.

  • Make Your Way There: Enjoy live music while demonstrations from animators, scientists, robotics experts, and 3D printers. Explore interactive installations, such as a large-scale working cardboard crane. This year’s event includes a Cosplay Contest open to all ages—prizes will be awarded to top performers.

Immerse yourself in local art at Downtown Springdale’s Art Walk, a 2-day event filled with free self-guided tours, exhibitions, and special events like the Art Walk Wine Crawl and the Monarch Flight Festival, happening Sep 13 from 5-9p and Sep 14 from 10a-5p!

  • The Perfect Start: The festival kicks off with the Art Walk Wine Crawl, featuring wine selections from small, family-owned wineries, captivating art installations, and live performances throughout Downtown Springdale on Friday, Sep 13, from 5-9p. Tickets are $20.

  • Take Flight: Festivities continue on Saturday, Sep 14, from 10a-5p, including the free, family-friendly Monarch Flight Festival at Turnbow Park. Celebrate the final days of summer with a Family Fun Day hosted by Rogers Parks & Rec at Mount Hebron Park on Sunday, Sep 8, from 1-4p.

  • Park Of Parks: The City of Rogers opened Mount Hebron Park in 2023, introducing 80 acres of community space for the public to enjoy. The park includes eight pickleball courts, four tennis courts, two basketball courts, two turf soccer fields, a turf baseball field, an accessible playground with state-of-the-art equipment, and a splash pad made with ranging abilities in mind.

  • Gone Fishin’: The free community event includes music, games, food trucks, face painting, and more! Don’t forget to bring your fishing pole for the fishing derby—those 16+ must have a valid fishing license to participate.

Explore New Flavors During The World Champion Squirrel Cook-Off

Prepare your tastebuds to indulge in the quintessence of Ozarkan cuisine! The World Champion Squirrel Cook-Off returns to the Ozark Highlands Nature Center in Springdale this Saturday, Sep 7, at 9a.

  • Limb Chicken & Dumplin’s: Up to 40 cooking teams will fire up the grills, smokers, and more to prepare the most delicious “limb chicken” recipe for a panel of judges and provide samples for the crowd to try! There will also be a huge fish fry and other wild dishes for those not really into eating squirrels, but hey… don’t knock it ‘til you try it.

  • Squirrelin’ Around: In addition to the cook-off, the day will feature other outdoor activities and entertainment, such as a squirrel-calling contest, marksmanship challenges, and activities in the Ozark Highlands Nature Center.
