Discover The Great Unknown As SoNA Kicks Off 2024

The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas’s 2023-24 Season continues at Walton Arts Center with a performance titled The Great Unknown on Saturday, Jan 20, at 7:30p.

• From the Vault: Presenting noteworthy yet rarely heard pieces by a trio of great American composers of the 1930s, the symphony will feature George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, Samuel Barber’s Symphony No. 1, and William Dawson’s Negro Folk Symphony – a timeless work based on themes from Black spirituals, which originally premiered at Carnegie Hall in 1934.

• Sweet Symphony: Discover sounds you may never have heard as SoNA brings these masterpieces to life in its first show of 2024. Single tickets range from $36 to $61; season subscriptions begin at $104.

The Numbers Are In: XNA Sets New Passenger Record in 2023

It’s official! Northwest Arkansas National Airport recorded its busiest year in 2023, boarding 991,489 passengers on flights bound for its 22 nonstop destinations — the previous record of 922,533 was set in 2019.

• Carry On: While American Airlines remains the airport’s primary carrier, capturing 49.8% of all travelers last year, XNA’s huge passenger bump has been attributed to increased service by low-cost carriers like Allegiant, Breeze, and Frontier.

• Soaring Ahead: The sky’s the limit for XNA in 2024, with progress underway on its $34m terminal modernization project. The airport is pursuing the addition of Southwest Airlines to its list of carriers, and Delta Airlines recently announced it will restart its nonstop service to New York LaGuardia this year, starting in April.

Live In America Springdale To Highlight A Rapid-Paced Range Of Local Talent During 60-in-60

Join Live in America Springdale for a dynamic night of entertainment as they present 60-in-60, featuring 60 artists performing for 60 seconds each, at the Medium on Saturday, Feb 3, at 7p.

• We’ll Do It Live! Live in America Springdale functions as a year-round art residency program, fostering artistic growth, communal sharing, and warm hospitality in the Springdale community through workshops, small-scale live performances, and visual arts programming.

• Turbo Talent Show: Sixty artists will be given 60 seconds each to perform, showcasing talents like singing, dancing, acting, dog tricks, ventriloquism, feats of strength — you name it! All participants will receive $100 to support their art-making.

Northwest Arkansas Naturals Announce 2024 Promo Night Schedule

There’s nothing like single-digit weather to make you long for those warm summer nights at the baseball field. Here to fuel your summer daydreams, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals announced their 2024 promo night schedule this week.

• A Real Firecracker: The Naturals will treat fans to a spectacular post-game fireworks show after they take on the Tulsa Drillers for Opening Night at Arvest Ballpark on Friday, Apr 5. The 2024 promo lineup includes 19 post-game fireworks shows.

• Family Fun: Popular theme nights will return this year with Star Wars Night on May 4, Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night, and more! Fans can also expect premium bobblehead giveaways throughout the season and interactive fan competitions like the Poultry Derby Race at every home game!
