Razorbacks Carry On Century-Long Legacy At The Paris 2024 Olympics

Twenty-five current, former, and future Razorback athletes and one former graduate student will participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, one hundred years after the first Razorback made an Olympic appearance in the same city.

  • Pigs In Paris: The first Razorback to qualify for an Olympics was Herman Bagby in 1924, coincidentally the last time Paris hosted an Olympiad. Bagby competed in track and field and football while at Arkansas and was chosen as a U.S. alternate for the decathlon in the Paris Olympics of 1924.

  • World Of Sports: The twenty-six athletes will represent nine countries in Track & Field, Basketball, Golf, Gymnastics, and Swimming. In addition to current Razorback athletes and alumni, ten other competitors have ties to Fayetteville.
