Benton County Relief Fund Offers Financial Assistance To Storm Victims

The Benton County Relief Fund has been launched to provide short-term financial assistance to households impacted by the devastating storms of May 26 and support local nonprofits in their disaster response efforts.

  • Apply For Aid: Households in Benton County directly impacted by the May 26 storms and earning $125,000 or less annually are eligible for the fund. Residents will also receive customized resource plans connecting them to as many resources as possible to ensure their needs are met.

  • Join The Cause: The fund has already received contributions from Excellerate Foundation, Walton Family Foundation, and Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, but the scope of the storm damage means that more help is desperately needed — 100% of donations will go directly to relief efforts.

Bentonville Makes The Headlines As One Of America’s Latest Boomtowns

CNBC’s Melissa Repko recently shared an article highlighting Bentonville’s evolution into a place with world-class art and outdoor amenities as a result of being home to the world’s largest retailer — and, consequently, a rise in the cost of living.

  • Mo’ Money: Walmart has fueled the area's growth, bringing incredible new amenities ranging from hipster coffee shops and chef-driven restaurants to art museums and a new medical school — amenities one might expect to find in places like Austin or even New York City.

  • Mo’ Problems Opportunities: At the same time, the cost of living has skyrocketed, raising concerns about affordability and the displacement of longtime residents. NWA’s population is expected to hit 1M by 2050, so we’re definitely experiencing growing pains. The article also highlights the efforts being taken by area leaders and nonprofits to help the area grow with intention.
