Independence Day Celebrations Around Northwest Arkansas

The sound of fireworks around the neighborhood is already signaling the start of a fun Independence Day Weekend. We put together an NWA Fireworks Guide to help you make plans. Here are two of our favorites:

  • America the Beautiful: Nothing says freedom like baseball and fireworks on the same night. Recreate The Sandlot fireworks scene with the NWA Naturals as they take on the Arkansas Travelers at Arvest Ballpark, followed by the season’s largest post-game fireworks show on Wednesday, Jul 3.

  • Boom Boom Pow: The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas will provide live orchestra music for a Fireworks Spectacular at the Walmart AMP on Thursday, Jul 4, at 8p. Tickets start at just $3 — get your seats while they last!

Bentonville’s July First Friday Theme Is A Salute To Service

Downtown Bentonville’s First Friday celebration returns this weekend with a full day of activities, live music, great food, and community fun this Friday, Jul 5, from 11a-9p.

  • Salute to Service: July’s First Friday will honor the brave men and women who serve our communities both locally and abroad. Representatives from several branches of the Armed Forces and local civil servants will be present, and several vendors will offer special discounts to service members past and present. There will be an opening flag ceremony at 4:40p, the National Anthem, and a Mustang Flyover!

  • Staged For Fun: As usual, expect great entertainment from the Slim Chickens Mainstage, including Erin Rowe, Church Street, and Jukebox Confession. An awesome lineup of food trucks will open at 11 a.m., Yoga Story will lead a free yoga session on the Square at 12 p.m., and booths will officially open at 3 p.m.

Just One Month Left To Experience The Wonder Of Exquisite Creatures At Crystal Bridges

Experience dazzling displays of unique animals, plants, and minerals from across the globe in the highly celebrated Exquisite Creatures exhibit, on display at Crystal Bridges until Monday, Jul 29.

  • Naturally Beautiful: Designed by artist and naturalist Christopher MarleyExquisite Creatures explores humanity’s intimate relationship with nature, revealing its intricate beauty and diversity through three-dimensional works comprised of animal, mineral, and plant specimens arranged in precise geometric compositions.

  • Weird & Wonderful: This is the first time Exquisite Creatures has been on view at an art museum, and will only be in Bentonville until Jul 29. General admission is just $12, and museum members, SNAP participants, veterans, and youth 18 and under receive free admission to the exhibition.

Sips On The Bricks: Summer Edition Returns To Downtown Rogers

NWA Emerging Leaders is bringing back a Downtown Rogers favorite with Sips on the Bricks: Summer Edition on Saturday, July 13, from 4-7:30p, including a pub crawl, costume contest, poker run, and local shop highlights!

  • Just A Sip: Downtown merchants will compete in a holiday drink contest, which the “sippers” can try as they shop. Vote for your favorites! The merchant with the best “sip” wins year-long bragging rights and a traveling trophy.

  • I’m All In: Participants will also receive a poker run card to complete as they visit the poker stops at various restaurants and shops with specials and deals exclusively for the event. At the night's end, Ozark Beer Company will host the After Party to announce the winners of the best sip, poker run, and costume contest.
