Open the Floodgates for Fun at WOKA Whitewater Park

The highly anticipated Waters of Oklahoma and Arkansas (WOKA) Whitewater Park opens this weekend, Sep 15-17, from 12-8p.

  • Making a Splash: Located just across the Oklahoma border, WOKA Whitewater Park is a joint project of The Grand River Dam Authority and the City of Siloam Springs, with support from the Walton Family Foundation. The state-of-the-art facility includes a 1,200-ft-long channel with eight exciting drop features designed to challenge and thrill kayakers, surfers, and tubers alike.

  • Paddle on Up: An official “grand opening celebration” is set for the Spring of 2024, but this weekend will give enthusiasts a firsthand look. Bring your own whitewater gear, or you can get rent equipment at WOKA on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be free parking and limited concessions during the opening weekend!

Entrepreneurship for All has gathered a diverse panel of local business and nonprofit leaders for the Welcoming Week: Entrepreneur Panel, hosted at Fairlane Station in Springdale tomorrow, Sep 14, from 5:30-7p.

Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation Hosts WHOO-RAY Family Fun Run

Celebrate the opening of Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation’s new facility and support their efforts to save wild birds during the 2023 WHOO-RAY Family Fun Run this Saturday, Sep 16, from 9:30a-1p.

  • Taking Flight: NWBR provides rehabilitation for injured and orphaned birds in the area and promotes conservation and education about raptor birds. The organization moved into its new facility this past August — after the location was gifted by Waste Management.

  • A Real Hoot: Learn more about NWBR during the family fun run around Lake Fayetteville, beginning and ending at Veterans Memorial Park. Tickets include a Fun Run T-shirt, lunch, and swag bag.

Registration Open For Urban Land Institute NWA’s 2nd Annual Place Summit

Urban Land Institute NWA will host its 2nd Annual ULI NWA Place Summit in Fayetteville from Nov 8-9, providing an opportunity to educate, advocate, and partner around the policies and practices that shape great places.

  • Power of Place: The immersive two-day event will take place in the vibrant downtown, arts, and market districts of Fayetteville, featuring dynamic speakers, interactive panel discussions, tours, workshops, and one-on-one opportunities with national and regional leaders.
