  • A Local Legend: Compton Gardens & Arboretum features six acres of lively woodlands, Champion Trees, native plants, and impressive greenery. The oasis in the heart of Downtown Bentonville reveals the history of Ozark horticulture and highlights the conservation efforts of Dr. Neil Compton, the renowned doctor, photographer, and conservationist who led the fight to save the Buffalo River.

  • A Cherished Landmark: The yearlong renovation project will preserve the historic exterior of Dr. Compton's mid-century modern house while equipping the interior with a redesigned exhibit room, lounges, and entertainment spaces to better serve the community.
