Veteran Chases Her Farm Dream in Arkansas

Rori was always drawn to farming, but her family didn’t farm. So, studying agriculture was never presented as a possibility. That is until she learned about the Center for Arkansas Farms and Food.

  • Growing Dreams: Rori studied art, then served fourteen years in the Navy. Afterward, she worked in the New Mexico oil fields, but her desire to farm remained constant. In 2022, she had an epiphany, “I reached a point where I had been responsible, served my country, raised my child, and I wanted to do something for me next. I stopped chasing dollars and started chasing my dream of farming.”

  • Farm School: Rori enrolled in the CAFF Farm School in Fayetteville. She is learning regenerative small-scale farming and farm entrepreneurship for urban and suburban environments and living out her dream of growing food for her family and community.
