Latinas En Bici Teams Up With Crystal Bridges For Tour De Frida

Arkansas Latinas en Bici and Crystal Bridges have teamed up to present Tour de Frida, a public art-inspired cycling event celebrating the life and death of artist Frida Kahlo, on Saturday, Jul 27, from 7a-12p.

  • Haciendo Amigas: Latinas en Bici started in 2019 with the goal of championing Latina women in the world of cycling through weekly rides, learning workshops, and multicultural events. They also provide bicycles, safety gear, and training to women in underserved communities, giving them the freedom to travel, explore, and improve their well-being.

  • Free Da: Tour De Frida is a free event for the whole community! Join members of Arkansas Latinas en Bici to experience Bentonville’s bike-friendly streets and routes, including road, gravel, and mountain bike trails. After the ride, enjoy festivities with food, drinks, and more!

Tuition-Free, Trauma-Informed Charter School Now Enrolling

Hope Academy, Arkansas's first and only trauma-informed charter school, is currently accepting applications for the 2024/2025 school year.

  • Supporting Families: Entering its fifth year, Hope Academy serves students in kindergarten through 4th grade as an extension of the programs of the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter. Hope Academy focuses on each student's social/emotional health and academic success while also providing wraparound services for the entire family.

  • Restoring Hope: All teachers and staff walk alongside each family as they navigate the difficult path caused by childhood trauma. With a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio, each child receives the individualized attention and instruction they need to succeed. XNA Sets All-Time High With Over 100K Enplanments In June

For the first time in its 25-year history, Northwest Arkansas National Airport surpassed 100,000 passengers in one month, with a grand total of 108,777 people boarding flights in June.

  • Gaining Altitude: High passenger numbers are crucial for XNA's long-term success as they generate essential revenue for future expansions, support the region's rapid population growth, and help meet the increasing travel demands by adding flights and attracting new airline partners.

  • Where Ya Headed? XNA’s six airlines—Allegiant, American, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, and United—offered 4,227 seats to passengers last month, a 17% increase over June 2023. The biggest routes included Charlotte, Dallas, and Miami (American); Denver (United and Frontier); New York, Atlanta, and Minneapolis (Delta); and Houston (United).
