Black Film & Music Expo Returns To Fayetteville

The Arkansas Black Film & Music Expo returns for its third year, bringing a two-day celebration of Black music and culture to the Fayetteville Town Center on Feb 9-10.

  • On Screen: The Film Expo on Feb 9 will feature film screenings, panel discussions, and more, including a keynote presentation by Daphne Maxwell Reed — who played Aunt Vivian in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

  • On Stage: This year’s lineup for the Music Expo on Feb 10 includes Lyfe Jennings, Yung Joc, the Arkansas Gospel Chorale, Akeem Kemp, Branjae Jackson, HBCU Marching Band, Justin Stewart, Kaylynn Richardson, Lakeshia Harper-Bradley, and Michael Fields Jr.

The Hive Hosts All-Star Chef Lineup To Combat Childhood Hunger

The Hive and No Kid Hungry will host their annual charity dinner, including a multi-course dinner prepared by award-winning chefs and an auction featuring unique culinary travel experiences and one-of-a-kind art on Saturday, Jan 27, at 5:30p.

  • Ending Hunger: No Kid Hungry is a nonprofit organization working to end child hunger in the United States by connecting kids in need with nutritious food and teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals.

  • In The Kitchen: Enjoy a cocktail hour and appetizers prepared by local chefs Arturo Solis of Lady Slipper and Luke Wetzel of Oven and Tap, followed by a multi-course dinner prepared by Top Chef Contestants Nelson German and Rebecca Masson and James Beard Finalist Jeff Chanchaleune.

Jagged Little Pill Takes The Stage At Walton Arts Center

Relive the magic of Alanis Morissette's career-defining album as the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill takes the stage at Walton Arts Center for eight performances from Jan 23-28.

  • You Oughta Know: Jagged Little Pill tells the story of the Healys, a suburban family grappling with societal expectations, personal conflicts, and hidden struggles, using Alanis Morissette's emotionally charged songs as its gripping soundtrack to the exploration of modern life complexities.

  • All I Really Want: Walton Arts Center and Teen Action & Support Center have partnered for a Hygiene Product Donation Drive during Jagged Little Pill. Bring new shampoo, conditioner, soap, or deodorant when you see the show or drop off in Walton Arts Center’s lobby from 10a-2p on weekdays or at TASC @ the Hub in Rogers.

INTERFORM Announces Dates For NWA Spring Fashion Week

Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week, presented by local nonprofit INTERFORM, will feature collections from Project Runway designers, engaging panel discussions, and free educational programs at Ledger in Downtown Bentonville on Mar 28-30.

  • Return to Form: INTERFORM provides professional development, education, and programming to the local creative community, using fashion as a tool to celebrate diversity and foster cross-cultural understanding.

  • In Fashion: The shows include three thematic evenings focussed on Community, Art, and Industry, featuring runway shows from Project Runway Alumni and regional designers like Alynwonderland, Rulli Torres, Korto Momolu, Asthon Hall, Nakota Style, and Brittany Allen.
