Witness A Rapid-Paced Range Of Local Talent During 60-in-60

Join Live in America Springdale for a dynamic night of entertainment as they present 60-in-60, featuring 60 artists performing for 60 seconds each, at The Medium in Downtown Springdale this Saturday, Feb 3, at 7p.

  • We’ll Do It Live! Live in America Springdale functions as a year-round art residency program, fostering artistic growth, communal sharing, and warm hospitality in the Springdale community through workshops, small-scale live performances, and visual arts programming.

  • Turbo Talent Show: Sixty artists will be given 60 seconds each to perform, showcasing talents like singing, dancing, acting, dog tricks, ventriloquism, feats of strength — you name it! All participants will receive $100 to support their art-making.

A Freeze Is Coming: Frost Fest Outdoor Beer Festival Returns This Weekend

Feel that chill in the air? That’s because Frost Fest Outdoor Beer Festival is this weekend at Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Feb 3, from 3-7p.

  • Chill Vibes: Presented by Fossil Cove Brewery and Barley, Hops, & Water, the festival showcases local breweries and supports local organizations with lots of craft beer, food trucks, vendors, live music, and artists. Proceeds from Frost Fest benefit local nonprofit partners: Apple Seeds, Arkansas Brewers Guild, Arkansas Climbers Coalition, Ozark Highlands Trail Association, and Pedal It Forward.

  • Feeling Frosty: Frost Fest ticket holders will be given a keepsake-tasting glass to sample beer from over 55 local and regional breweries. Last year, Frost Fest saw a record turnout and expects this year to surpass 2,500 attendees from across the region.

Underbrush Books Hosts Conversation With NYT Bestselling Author Stephen Graham Jones

Gather with fellow book enthusiasts at Underbrush Books for a live, virtual conversation with New York Times Bestselling Author Stephen Graham Jones, author of The Only Good Indians, this Friday, Feb 2, at 6p.

  • A Real Page Turner: Underbrush Books started in 2021 as a community book club, offering groups for different genres like fantasy, horror, under 200 pages, etc. Last fall, they opened The Parlour Room, a new independent bookstore and community gathering space at 103 W Walnut St. in Downtown Rogers.

  • Oh The Horror: Stephen Graham Jones will join the gathering for a live broadcast conversation about his upcoming release The Angel of Indian Lake, the third installment of his Indian Lake Trilogy, and the current state of horror as a genre.

GORP Spring Startup Incubator Takes On Eight Local Businesses

The Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP) has launched its 12-week spring startup incubator, assisting eight local startups in the outdoor recreation industry with resources, mentoring, and up to $15,000 in non-dilutive funding.

  • Get Outside: Outdoor sports startups in the cohort include Backcountry Quiver, a handmade quiver maker founded by Rick Spicer; Foresight Engineering, an intelligent rifle scope founded by Colin Shaw and Maghan Shaw; and First Season Outdoor, an outdoor gear membership service founded by Corey Campbell and Mason McClelland.

  • Wheel Works: Startups in the cycling industry include Rosie Up, an empowering community for women cyclists founded by Paige Onweller; Slow Southern Steel, a custom bike-building company founded by Jesse Turner; and Tread Medics, a tire repair company founded by Ernie Lechuga and Randy Bowers.
