Crystal Bridges Hosts Winter Break Wonders Activities For Kids And Families

Make great memories with the kids while they’re home for holiday break by joining Crystal Bridges for Winter Break Wonders, a series of workshops and activities for kids and families from Dec 21 - Jan 1.

• All The Fun: There will be artmaking classes for snowglobes, snowflake quilts, and icicle twirlers; activities to get you moving like yoga classes, square dancing, and a winter scavenger hunt; and entertainment like puppet shows, gallery bingo, and a magic show!

• Happy Noon Year: Help the museum close out an incredible 2023 during its annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration, a daytime New Year’s celebration packed with artmaking, live music and performances, games, dancing, glamorous activities, and a group toast at noon.

LIVSN Designs And Blk Elk Media Gaining Global Recognition For Short Film

Northwest Arkansas’s LIVSN Designs has gained widespread acclaim for its documentary, Well Worn Life with Dani Reyes-Acosta, which was featured in ten global film festivals, including Mountainilm and the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

• On Screen: Mountainfilm and Banff Mountain Film Festival are two of the most prestigious mountain film festivals in the world, featuring a collection of documentary films and short films that celebrate mountain culture, outdoor adventure, and the spirit of exploration. Well Worn Life was also selected for each festival’s world tour.

• Intentional Living: The 6-minute documentary, produced by Fayetteville-based Blk Elk Media, follows athlete Dani Reyes-Acosta in her life beyond sports, emphasizing intentional living and purpose. LIVSN Designs is made for purposeful lifestyles with comfortable utility gear built to last.

Northwest Arkansas Sees 16.2% Surge in Residential Building Permits in 2023

Residential building permits in Northwest Arkansas's four largest cities increased by 16.2% in the first 11 months of 2023 compared to last year, with a total of 1,839 permits issued at $575.73m.

• Benton County: Bentonville reported 427 permits valued at $160.67m in 2023, a slight increase from 425 permits and $215.82m in 2022. In Rogers, there were 502 permits issued with a value of $152.79m in 2023, compared to 263 permits and $100.41m in 2022.

• Washington County: Springdale recorded 396 permits valued at $99.13m in 2023, up from 208 permits and $84.7m in 2022. Fayetteville issued 514 permits totaling $163.14m in 2023, a 25% decrease from 686 permits and $260.10m in 2022.
