NWA Council Recruits Help of DPZ CoDesign To Craft Regional Growth Strategy

Walton Family Foundation

With Northwest Arkansas projected to exceed 1 million residents by 2050, the NWA Council has tapped urban design firm DPZ CoDesign to help develop a regional growth strategy that can address challenges like housing, infrastructure, and green space preservation.

  • Seeking Public Input: Supported by Walton Family Foundation funding, the strategy will prioritize community engagement, including an eight-day summer roadshow and events throughout the year to ensure diverse voices, such as Hispanic and Marshallese residents, help shape the region’s future.

  • Preserving Uniqueness: DPZ will work with local governments and stakeholders to align the regional strategy with each city’s unique plans, promoting connectivity, housing options, and natural space protection while reducing sprawl and improving infrastructure.
