The long-standing Motel 6 on College Ave. in Fayetteville is under new ownership, which plans to renovate the space into a boutique motel.

• Historic Properties: The property was acquired by Dwellist, a development firm co-founded by University of Arkansas alumnus and Arkansas native Charlie Mackey. The firm specializes in reimagining existing properties with a preservation-focused approach.

• Reimagined: Dwellist plans to transform the Motel 6 property into an independent boutique motel featuring upgraded rooms, a redesigned pool area, and new amenities like a coffee shop, cocktail bar, and potentially a dog park.
