Marshall Islands National Soccer Team to Debut in Northwest Arkansas

The Marshall Islands will compete in its first-ever international tournament, the 2025 Outrigger Cup, in Northwest Arkansas this Aug 11-17.

  • A Historic Tournament: Until now, the Marshall Islands are the only country in the world without a national soccer team. The team, composed of Marshallese descendants and local players, hopes to gain FIFA recognition and raise awareness about their homeland as they face off with Turks & Caicos, the US Virgin Islands, and Guam.

  • More Than a Game: The location of the international tournament bears special significance, as Springdale is home to the largest Marshallese population outside the islands. They are fundraising to bring players from the islands to Arkansas for this historic moment.
