Local Moms Making Prom Dreams Come True for NWA Teens

A group of local moms is making prom night magical for teens in need with the Gownsational event this Saturday, Mar 1, from 1-4p at the Center for Nonprofits in Rogers.

  • The Fairy Godmothers: Now in its second year, this initiative was born out of hearing stories of families who couldn't afford prom dresses. Becky Luther, a local nurse practitioner and the founder of NWA Single Moms Sisterhood and Queenie Connects rallied the support of group moderators Meni Tenorio, Misty Henderson, and April Babinec.

  • The Ball Gowns: More than 75 local businesses have already pitched in for this weekend’s special event, offering dry-cleaning services, event space, and transportation for the dresses. Volunteers and donations are still needed if you’d like to help bring the magic to life!
