Local Health Leaders Investing $700M To Improve Healthcare In The Heartland
Alice L. Walton Foundation, Mercy, and Heartland Whole Health Institute recently announced a 30-year, $700M collaboration to expand access to health care, reduce costs, and improve health outcomes in the Heartland.
Collaborative Care: The 30-year agreement includes significant investments to make Northwest Arkansas a destination for care and a national example of how to provide health care in new and innovative ways. Major efforts will be taken to attract, train, and retain top physicians for the region.
Specialization: Mercy has committed $350M to the initiative, including plans to build a cardiac care center on its Rogers campus — Cleveland Clinic, a national leader in heart and vascular surgery, will provide on-site expertise. Alice L. Walton Foundation will provide $350M, in part to develop an outpatient center for specialty care in Bentonville.
