Explore Local Makers and Innovators at the 2nd Annual Maker Faire NWA

The 2nd annual Maker Faire NWA will bring a day-long celebration of creativity, learning, and innovation to the Fayetteville Public Library this Saturday, Oct 21, from 9a-5p!

  • Looks Like We Made It: From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these Makers to showcase their hobbies, experiments, and projects in a family-friendly setting.

  • Make Your Way There: Explore an extensive lineup of makers, engaging presentations, and workshops during the fair. Interactive activities for all ages will feature demonstrations of innovative and emerging technologies.

Amazeum Hosts 90s-Themed Adult Night

The next Adult Night at the Scott Family Amazeum will throw it back with a ‘90s nostalgia theme on Thursday, Nov 2, from 6-8p.

  • Learn Through Play: The Amazeum is a 50,000ft2 children’s museum in Bentonville featuring hands-on exhibits designed to engage the imagination and bring art and science to life. Nearly everything in the museum is made to be touched, climbed on, and interacted with.

  • Mom & Dad’s Turn: Tickets include two drink tickets and plenty of opportunities for hands-on fun exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math experiences with a throwback spin. Embrace the theme by wearing your favorite ‘90s outfit!

Groundwork Ensuring an Affordable Future for Northwest Arkansas

Springdale’s Pleasant Counter Headed to Dallas for World Food Championships

After winning the Miracle League’s Burger Competition over the weekend, Pleasant Counter will be headed to Dallas for the World Food Championships.

  • The Big Leagues: Miracle League of Northwest Arkansas hosted a burger competition on Saturday in Downtown Springdale, where home cooks and professional chefs competed for the title of “Best Burger” and entry into the World Food Championships in Dallas on Nov 9-12.

  • Tallowed Ground: Pleasant Counter is a proper mom-and-pop-style scratch kitchen serving locally sourced comfort food and using grass-fed beef tallow for deep frying. The menu features a fried chicken sandwich, shrimp po’boys, a burger that’ll knock your socks off, and more. Plus, the organic sourdough hand pies are perfect for a sweet finish.

There have already been several Oktoberfest events around Northwest Arkansas this month, but it’s not too late to join the community in celebrating good people and great beer by visiting the fantastic local breweries around town.

  • Try ‘Em All: If you’re up for a challenge, visit all 19 stops along the famous Fayetteville Ale Trail. Passports can be picked up at the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center, ordered online, or found at any of the participating breweries. Once the passport has been stamped at each location, it can be turned in for an Ale Trail Finisher stein.
