Rogers Hosts Grand Opening of Mt. Hebron Park

The city of Rogers will celebrate the newly opened Mt. Hebron Park with a Grand Opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, Aug 11, at 10a.

  • Gathering Place: With trails, sports fields, and greenspace spanning 80 acres in the southwest corner of Rogers, Mt. Hebron Park will be a community center for sports, leisure, and recreation.

  • Welcome to Play: Mt. Hebron includes eight pickleball courts, four tennis courts, four basketball courts, two turf soccer fields, and a turf baseball field. The park also features Arkansas’s largest accessible playground with state-of-the-art equipment and a splash pad made with ranging abilities in mind.

Urban Land Institute NWA Announces 2nd Annual Place Summit

Urban Land Institute NWA has announced the dates for its 2nd Annual ULI NWA Place Summit, an opportunity to educate, advocate, and partner around the policies and practices that shape great places.

  • Power of Place: The immersive two-day event will take place in the vibrant downtown, arts, and market districts of Fayetteville on Nov 8-9, featuring dynamic speakers, interactive panel discussions, tours, workshops, and one-on-one opportunities with national and regional leaders.

Arkansas Children’s Receives Landmark Donation at Gala of Hope

During the 15th annual Gala of Hope, Arkansas Children’s received a significant donation of $25m from the Willard and Pat Walker Foundation — the largest single donation ever made by the foundation.

  • In Honor Of: The funds will be used in both the Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas expansion projects, helping to grow and expand the children’s health services in Arkansas. In honor of the significant contribution, Arkansas Children’s Springdale campus will be renamed the Pat Walker Campus.

  • Building Out: Of the donation, $12.5m has been allocated for a new Springdale wing, focusing on expanding services in orthopedics, urology, gastroenterology, and ear, nose, and throat. With the remainder, an endowment will be formed to meet the needs of children in the area.
