Local Landscape Architect Selected to Construct Arkansas’s Largest Green Roof

Alice L. Walton School of Medicine

Local woman-owned business Ozark Green Roofs has been selected to lead the construction of a 2-acre green roof for the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine — it will be the largest green roof in Arkansas.

  • Roof Topsoil: Owned by landscape architect Lee Porter, OZGR has a commitment to creating spaces that harmonize with nature, benefitting both people and the planet. Other noteworthy green roof projects they’ve completed in Northwest Arkansas include the Fayetteville Public Library Expansion, First National Bank of NWA, and Adohi Residence Hall at the University of Arkansas.

  • Topped Off: The large-scale green roof will feature stone terraces, inviting pathways, over 90 native trees, native shrubs, vibrant perennials, and a serene water feature, and will seamlessly connect with the Crystal Bridges campus through a network of trails.

Fall Down the Rabbit Hole During This Month’s Fayetteville First Thursday

Fayetteville’s First Thursday theme is Down the Rabbit Hole, welcoming the fall season with a spectacular display of fantasy art, circus acts, and musical performances at the Downtown Square on Oct 5, from 5:30-9p.

  • Wonderland: First Thursday on the Square is an annual event series by Experience Fayetteville, gathering the community around the combination of music, food, art, and fun! October’s entertainment will feature Bootleg Royale, a magic show by Ozark Cirque & Professor Gallico, and headliners hART thROB and DJ D'Lite.

  • Hill Folks: Arkansas Circus Arts performers, including aerialists, stilt walkers, and a living statue, will showcase talents around the Square. Pop by the Town Center for games, racing simulators, virtual reality experiences, and more as a preview to the free ReWired Fest, happening this Friday at Bud Walton Arena.

The All-American Rejects are bringing their iconic early 2000s emo-pop sound, irrepressible energy, and infectious scrappiness to the Walmart AMP stage on Tuesday, Oct 10.

Main Street Eureka Springs Highlights Local Artists With Open Studios Tour
