Ontario and Northwest Arkansas Strengthen Trade Ties

Ontario's Minister of Economic Development, Victor Fedeli, visited Bentonville earlier this week for conversations with Arkansas leadership regarding increasing trade between the regions. Canada is Arkansas’s largest trade partner, with nearly $1b worth of rice and poultry being exported to Ontario each year.

  • Direct Route: On Sunday, Fedeli met with regional leaders at the Northwest Arkansas National Airport to discuss establishing a direct flight to Toronto, then toured several venues in Downtown Bentonville, including the Ledger.

  • Triple the Trade: Conversations continued Monday at the Momentary with government officials and business leaders, establishing deeper relationships and setting goals to increase bilateral trade between Ontario and Northwest Arkansas from $2b to $6b by 2027.
