Walmart AMP Posts Record Numbers After 2023 Concert Season

The Walmart AMP in Rogers saw a record-breaking ticket year, with sales increasing by 15.8% to 318,521, surpassing last year's record of 275,000.

  • By The Numbers: Ticket revenue saw a 12% increase, reaching $15.9m. The overall top-line revenue rose significantly by 28.4% to $35.9m. Despite this, the average ticket price dropped by 7% to $49.76.

  • Highlights: The Cox Concert Series featured 37 shows in 2023, with 16 selling out. Lana Del Rey maxed out the AMP’s 11,000-seat capacity on Aug 8 for the highest-attended show of the year. The AMP saw its highest food and beverage sales on Jul 27, apparently induced by Eric Church.

Local Musicians Raising Funds For Wildfire Relief Efforts In Maui

Musicians will take the stage for Music and Moolah for Maui, a concert fundraiser for wildfire relief in Maui, at the Medium in Downtown Springdale this Thursday, Dec 14, from 5:30-8:30p.

  • All Hands Working Together: Organized by Evan Alvarado and Meredith Mashburn, Music and Moolah for Maui will raise funds for the Olohana Foundation, which is contributing to the rebuilding of communities affected by the wildfires in Maui earlier this year.

  • Message Music: Featuring mostly reggae music, the concert will be headlined by Rochelle Bradshaw & Hypnotion, along with performances by The Irie Lions and DJ HOD-I. Ozark Beer Co and Black Apple Hard Cider will provide refreshments. Tickets are $20.

Applications for From Maker to Market, a 12-week micro-entrepreneurship program hosted by Fayetteville Public Library, will be open until Jan 20 for aspiring entrepreneurs who’d like to join the spring 2024 cohort.

  • Just A Phase: The FMTM program begins with a Skills Training and Product Prototyping Phase followed by an Idea, Business, and Funding Development Phase. Each phase will run for six weeks, meeting evenings and weekends from February through April.

  • Ideation to Creation: Participants will learn about prototype development using the library's Center for Innovation tools and attend classes taught by local professionals discussing small business best practices. Previous participants have created a digital synthesizer kit, custom travel keepsakes, an educational geology-based puzzle, and other innovative products.

Premium Brands NWA To Relocate Headquarters To Springdale

Premium Brands of Northwest Arkansas recently announced plans to build a new 130,000ft2 headquarters on 20 acres north of Kendrick Ave in Springdale, with construction set to begin in 2024.

  • Wine on Wheels: Currently headquartered in Fayetteville, Premium Brands distributes beer, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to hundreds of retail accounts in the region. The company purchased the land from the Springdale Public Facilities Board for $1.52m, securing a more central location for current and future operations.

  • Nice Job: Premium Brands currently employs around 100 people and anticipates a 10% employment growth within the first three years of the new operation — a positive addition to Springdale’s economic growth goals.
