Walmart Shares A Closer Look Into Its New Home Office

This week, Walmart unveiled a closer look at the New Home Office currently under construction in Bentonville, highlighting some unique elements being woven into the future campus.

  • Au Naturel: Twelve uniquely designed office centers are arranged around the campus, organized by neighborhoods and connected by outdoor paths with a special emphasis on blending design and nature. Walmart’s new campus is the largest mass timber campus development currently under construction in the US, with over 2.4m square feet of office space constructed from mass timber.

  • Rooted in History: At the heart of the campus sits Helen’s Amphitheatre, paying tribute to the legacy and hospitality of Helen Walton. Elements from the Walton family home have been incorporated into the design, such as regional stone and dogwood trees.

Coalition Considers Seeking National Park and Preserve Status for Buffalo River

NWA Daily

The Coalition for the Future of Buffalo National River has proposed converting the Buffalo National River area into a National Park and Preserve — a move that could protect hunting and fishing access and increase economic benefits from tourism.

  • Well Preserved: The measure could protect hunting, fishing, trapping, and oil and gas extraction while still restricting activities like mining and consumptive use. The proposal includes increased infrastructure and funding for roads, bathrooms, and parking lots.

  • The Neighborhood: The Coalition has been conducting a survey, which found that the majority of neighbors agree the changes should: protect the waterway from pollution, not allow the taking of private land through eminent domain, not create new taxes, maintain current hunting rules, and grandfather local businesses into any new rules.
