Groundwork - Workforce Housing for NWA

Groundwork is an NWA nonprofit focused on creating strong, diverse, mixed-income communities in our neighborhoods. So, how does this impact you?

  • Get educated: Groundwork offers learning opportunities that include 1) a list of reports and resources focused on NWA, 2) a glossary of housing terms and their meanings, and 3) a FutureIsNow speaker series that includes local and national experts. 

  • Opening doors: In case you missed it, Groundworks had a groundbreaking on March 7 of Big Emma - its 77-unit development project in downtown Springdale. 30 of the units will be permanently reserved for households earning below the regional median income.

Arkansas One of the Top Destinations to Move to

Arkansas continues to attract out-of-staters as a destination to call home, with residents from Texas and California moving to the Natural State the most in 2023 according to state driver's license data. 

  • New beginnings: With 44,271 out-of-state license transfers last year alone, Arkansas' population growth is off to a strong start, contributing to a broader tax base and providing additional resources for cities and counties in the state. 

  • Welcome wagon: In addition to residents from neighboring states, Arkansas also welcomed new residents from other countries including Puerto Rico, France, Germany, South Korea, and others.
