OZ Art NWA Celebrates Completion of Lakes and Rivers Installation
OZ Art NWA will celebrate the completion of Lakes and Rivers by artist Stefan Sagmeister with a community event at Ledger this Friday, Aug 18, from 5–7p.
Big Fish: Lakes and Rivers, a sculptural installation of two smallmouth bass, celebrates the robust outdoor recreation industry in Arkansas. The larger fish measures 93 ft long, the average length of a blue whale.
Come for a Swim: The free, family-friendly celebration will feature local vendors, activities, a mobile aquarium, casting exercises, water safety education, and paddleboarding exercises. Attendees will receive a free Wonders of the Waterways activity book.

Hatch Farm Hosts First Annual Peach Festival
Hatch Farm will host its 1st Annual Hatch Farm Peach Festival & Scottish Highland Cow Showcase at their farm in Wesley, between Goshen and Elkins, this Saturday, Aug 19, from 10a-9p.
A Real Peach: You might recognize Hatch Farm from local farmers’ markets, where they sell flowers, jams, blueberries, and other chemical-free produce. The farm’s not far from the recently opened Orthodox Farmhouse Brewery if you’ve been meaning to get out that way!
Lil’ Moo’s: The $10 entry fee includes a complimentary peach, one raffle entry for a $100 Hatch Farm gift card, and a day filled with live music, food trucks, vendors, and activities. Kids can enjoy a petting area with piglets and see the farm’s newest baby Highland cow.

Enjoy a Night of Local Music at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks
This week’s Terrific Tuesday event at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will feature the region’s talent with a Local Music Night. Join the free, family-friendly event in the garden on Aug 8 from 5-9:30p.
Local Showcase: Nine local musicians will take the stage in this local showcase. Hear tunes from artists Kary Middleton, Chris Wayne, Woven, Troy Farnam, Dominic Roy, Edgar Lorona, Drew Rogers, Moselle, and Allen Hurt.
Eat up: Rockin’ Rackley’s is serving BBQ, and Sweet Scoops is serving ice cream! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic on the lawn while listening to a great showcase of local music.

Open Avenues’ SOAR NWA Returns to Bentonville for Fourth Year
The fourth annual SOAR NWA hot air balloon festival takes flight this weekend at the Benton County Fairgrounds from Aug 18-19, taking fun to new heights and opening up new avenues for our neighbors with disabilities.
Helping Others Fly: SOAR NWA raises funds for Open Avenues — a nonprofit that has been serving Northwest Arkansas since 1975 by providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Take to the Skies: Enjoy a variety of events, including evening balloon glows, tethered balloon rides, a kid zone, circus performers, musical performances, helicopter rides, a beer garden, food vendors, and a car exhibit.
