Springdale Breaks Ground For New Senior Activity Center Downtown
Buffalo Builders broke ground yesterday on The Springdale Senior Activity and Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art facility on E Emma Ave. made possible by the 2023 Springdale Bond program.
Convenience: Located at E. Emma Ave and Baggett St, the new senior center will be close to health clinics, pharmacies, and recreation opportunities like the Jones Center, the Razorback Greenway, and Luther George Park.
Community: The center will feature amenities like a spacious dining area, a commercial kitchen, social gathering spaces, pickleball courts, a library, and a game room. Construction is expected to be completed by Fall 2025.

New Filipino Restaurant To Open In Downtown Rogers
Lasang Pinoy, a new Filipino restaurant, will open for a limited time at Proof Downtown in Rogers on Thursday, Aug 8.
Prove It: An innovative project by Canoe Concepts, Proof Downtown is located at 200 N 2nd St and provides a fully equipped kitchen and dining space for new restaurants to test their concepts with minimal risk. Lasang Pinoy plans to use the space from Aug-Oct.
Let’s Eat: Founded by Ate Maria Smith, Lasang Pinoy showcases Filipino cuisine's vibrant and diverse flavors. Dinner is served family-style Wednesday through Saturday from 5-9p, and each Sunday will feature a brunch buffet from 10a-2p. The lounge room will also feature open mic karaoke!

Second Annual NWA Honor Fest Returns To Orchards Park
Northwest Arkansas Honor Fest is back for its second year, bringing a free, family-friendly day of fun to Orchards Park in Bentonville on Saturday, Aug 10, from 9a-3p.
I Can Be Your Hero: The mission of NWA Honor Fest is to celebrate all first responders, military service members, veterans, and their families. Saturday's events include a kickoff celebration at Memorial Wall, an enlistment ceremony, a job fair, and several competitions, including football contests, a humvee haul, and the IdeaFame Pitch Contest for $1000.
All-Day Fun: Attendees can enjoy live music and free local BBQ while exploring the booth expo or the Family Fun Zone, which features activities such as a kids’ obstacle course, dart battlefield, face painting, snow cones, corn hole, bounce houses, military and first responder vehicles, live music, and more.

A new cohort of Circles NWA begins this fall, and opportunities are open for those who want to make a difference in our community!
Social Capital: Circles NWA is dedicated to helping low-income individuals and families move up and out of poverty through the power of social capital. Participants have witnessed incredible milestones in upward mobility, including new jobs, increased income, homeownership, graduation, decreased debt, and improved credit.
You’ve Got A Friend: As an Ally, you will be matched with participants, known as Circle Leaders, who are taking steps to improve their income, build social connections, and achieve their personal, career, and financial goals. Your role as an Ally is to offer support and friendship and to walk alongside Circle Leaders on their journey.
