Local Women-Owned Business Empowers Creativity and Community Through Accessible Crafting

Bentonville has always been a hub of innovation and creativity, and now it’s home to a new venture that embodies these values. Hillfolk, a trailblazing women-owned business based in Bentonville, has officially launched its craft kits in 1,500 Walmart stores across the country. This milestone isn't just a commercial achievement; it’s a heartfelt mission to make crafting accessible to all while supporting the community through their non-profit initiative, Hillfolk Craft Club.

Hillfolk’s new line of craft kits offers a variety of options, including weaving, embroidery, crochet, needle felting, paper crafts, and macrame. Designed for crafters of all ages and skill levels, these kits aim to spark creativity in homes across America. Whether you’re a seasoned artisan or a curious beginner, Hillfolk’s products provide everything needed to create something special or to gift a unique handmade item.

Co-founder Bea Apple reflects on the significance of this launch, stating, “This launch is more than just a business milestone; it’s about nurturing creativity from the grassroots up.” Her words resonate with the ethos of Hillfolk, which seeks to empower individuals on their craft journey through engaging resources and support.

At the heart of Hillfolk's mission is its commitment to inclusivity and community empowerment. The company is deeply invested in its non-profit arm, Hillfolk Craft Club, which dedicates itself to educating and uplifting communities through the art of crafting. Profits generated from the sale of craft kits at Walmart will directly support the initiatives of the Craft Club, furthering its mission to provide resources and opportunities to those who may not otherwise have access.

“Our goal is to break down barriers with accessible products and content on platforms like TikTok and YouTube,” Bea explains. By utilizing modern platforms, Hillfolk not only reaches a wider audience but also ensures that marginalized creators are represented and celebrated within the crafting community.

Workshops hosted by Hillfolk Craft Club offer free and affordable opportunities for individuals to learn traditional folk arts, aiming to broaden access to creative practices and even paving pathways for micro-retailers to enter larger markets to foster economic growth within the community.

For those eager to dive into the world of crafting, Hillfolk invites you to explore their offerings. Whether you're looking to create something beautiful for yourself or gift a friend, these kits are designed to inspire and empower.
