NWA Daily

The summer concert season at the Walmart AMP officially kicks off this weekend with Hozier on Friday and Riley Green on Saturday. Here are some new things to keep in mind this season:

New Nonprofit Targets Food Insecurity In Northwest Arkansas’s Hispanic Community

Northwest Arkansas's newest nonprofit, Casa Dos Alas, aims to target food insecurity in the region’s Hispanic communities, creating solutions that are as nourishing to the spirit as they are to the body.

  • More Than Food: Led by Juan Bahena, owner of Tula in Downtown Fayetteville, Casa Dos Alas goes beyond traditional food distribution methods by focusing on the unique challenges Hispanic families face, such as transportation hurdles, inflexible work schedules, and the scarcity of culturally appropriate food options.

  • Embracing Culture: In collaboration with the Northwest Arkansas Foodbank, Casa Dos Alas will organize pop-up markets and initiate a culinary maker series. The aim is to equip families with the tools and knowledge to prepare wholesome, culturally relevant meals.
