Experience The Musical Side Of Crystal Bridges’ New Exhibit, Knowing The West
Experience a unique angle on Crystal Bridges’ latest exhibit, Knowing the West, during a special music event with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra in the museum’s Great Hall on Thursday, Sep 26, at 7p.
Sounds Of The West: Under the direction of Maestro Steven Byess, the APO will perform Troy Armstrong’s Ozark Folk Song Suite, Sara Carina Graef’s Yakona, and Aaron Copland’s Suite from Rodeo. These pieces reflect the diverse landscapes and folk traditions of the American West and amplify themes explored in the exhibit.
Go West, Young Man: Special guest Dr. Mindy Besaw, Curator of the Knowing the West exhibit, will provide insights into the visual and historical contexts of the music, while guest composer Sara Carina Graef will discuss her composition Yakona, inspired by the Oregon coast.

Razorback Hockey Club Gears Up For Season Opener With Expanded Program
The Razorback Hockey Club begins its 2024-25 season against the University of Oklahoma, with games tonight and Friday, Sep 5-6, at the Jones Center in Springdale.
Program Expansion: The team will introduce a D2 Team this season led by 8-year Head Coach Keller Sims, which will allow the program to compete at a higher level within the American Collegiate Hockey Association while continuing to build on its strong tradition at the D3 level. New Head Coach Greg Betzold will lead the D3 Team.
Puck Drop: The Razorbacks’ schedule includes matchups with top-tier programs like the University of Oklahoma, the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska, and others. Fans can expect high-energy games filled with the fast-paced action Razorback Hockey is known for. The Razorbacks will play all home games at The Jones Center in Springdale.

Mount Sequoyah Kicks Off Fall Music On The Mountain Series
Dive into Arkasnas’s musical roots with Mount Seqouyah’s Fall Music on the Mountain series, featuring a free lineup of outdoor concerts beginning this Friday, Sep 6, at 6p.
Up On The Mountain: The concerts are free, thanks to the support of an Arkansas Heritage Grant. Pizzas can be purchased at registration, and a donation bar with beer, wine, and seltzers will be available. Depending on the weather, all shows will occur outside the center’s scenic Vesper Point or inside the Clapp Auditorium.
Art + Music: The season's first show features a music and art collaboration with a performance by Meadow Makers, a sweetheart folk duo from the Boston Mountains, and a fall exhibition series in Sequoyah Hall Gallery featuring artwork by Helen Kwiatkowski. Both artists have studios on the mountain.

Experience The World Of Japanese Cars During TougeCon 2024 In Fayetteville
TougeCon 2024 returns to Fayetteville for a celebration of Japanese cars, culture, and touge-style driving, with events planned this Friday and Saturday, Sep 6-7.
Underground: The TougeCon 2024 weekend kicks off with the official TougeCon Underground parking garage pre-meet on Friday, Sep 6, from 6:30-9p. Spectating is free, so come and enjoy live DJ music, food vendors, and hundreds of cool cars—think Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift vibes.
Drive Around: The Main Event takes over the entire Fayetteville City Square and Town Center on Saturday, Sep 7, from 3:30-8:45p. The event is free to spectate and includes a curated Japanese car show, vendor booths, raffle prizes, a full RC drift track with scheduled activities, and special guests like YouTube sensation Danger Dan.
