Crystal Bridges and the Momentary Announce 2024 Exhibitions

Crystal Bridges and the Momentary recently shared their 2024 exhibition lineup, with several shows exploring the relationship between art and science, the impact of Indigenous art, and photography as a tool for storytelling

  • Of The Earth: Crystal Bridges' lineup includes Exquisite Creatures, by artist and naturalist Christopher Marley; Space Makers: Indigenous Expression and a New American Art, an examination of a mid-century American art influenced by Native American works; North Forest Outdoor Lights: Klip Collective, an immersive nighttime experience in the North Forest; the traveling exhibition Knowing the West; and an untitled installation featuring art and stories from the Arkansas Coalition of Marshallese.

  • Caught on Camera: The Momentary will launch three photography-centric exhibitions, including Kristine Potter: Dark Waters, a collection exploring the Southern Gothic genre; Awol Erizku: Mystic Parallax, a reimagining of African American and African visual culture; and Best in Show: Pets in Contemporary Photography from the Fotografiska Museum in NYC.

Walmart Prepares To Unveil First Amenity Building On New Campus

Walmart recently announced the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness will open on the new home office campus on Jan 12 — the first of several employee amenity buildings set to open at the new headquarters.

  • In The Club: Membership eligibility extends to all part-time, full-time, and temporary Walmart and Sam’s Club employees in Northwest Arkansas, including long-term associates meeting specific criteria.

  • Whole Health: The 360,000ft2 facility was designed with members’ whole health in mind, including an indoor pool, fitness areas with weights, studios for yoga and other classes, a meditation garden, tennis and pickleball courts, hydromassages and cryotherapy, and much more.

Natural State Initiative Shares Plans To Grow Arkansas’s Outdoor Recreation Economy

The Natural State Initiative has announced its inaugural set of recommendations to boost outdoor recreation and grow the state's outdoor economy.

  • Naturally: The Natural State Initiative is a 17-member advisory council chaired by Arkansas's First Gentleman Bryan Sanders, with a mission to enhance Arkansas’s outdoor economy by coordinating with state agencies, promoting tourism, and fostering economic growth in the state's outdoor sector.

  • Get Outside: The council's first set of recommendations includes investing in Arkansas State Parks, establishing the state as a year-round tourism destination, boosting the outdoor economy, educating Arkansans on the benefits of an outdoor economy, promoting careers in outdoor sectors, providing greater support to those in the outdoor economy, growing the Arkansas Delta Recreation Economy, and utilizing mobile technology to fuel the outdoor economy.
