Maxine’s Tap Room turns 75 today! Help celebrate the best little bar on Block St with events at the taproom all evening on Mar 18.
A Legendary Namesake: When Maxine Miller borrowed money from her parents in 1950 to open a bar, no one could have predicted its lasting legacy. Known for her sharp wit and no-nonsense last call, she ran it with a firm but welcoming hand.
A Party Fit for Maxine: The celebration will feature music from Odeon Collective, a custom cake by Eve Flores, burgers from Boujee Buns, a live painting by Jason Jones, and KUAF’s Listening Lab to capture stories about the bar. Crisis Brewing Co. even crafted a special Legacy Lager, with $1 per pint supporting the Maxine’s Legacy Scholarship Fund.
