Two Arkansas-based Companies Named in TIME's List of World's Best Companies for 2024

Walmart and J.B. Hunt Transport Services are two Arkansas-based companies that made the list of the top 1,000 companies in the world, according to TIME Magazine. 

• Representing Arkansas: Walmart, ranked 44th overall, stood out for its impressive revenue growth and high employee satisfaction, while J.B. Hunt came in at 644 and was recognized for its moderate revenue growth and commitment to sustainability and employee satisfaction. 

• The top dog: Apple took the top spot on the list, with other major companies such as Microsoft and Amazon making the top 5.

The Goldie's Grill crew brings their 16 years of experience from Susie Q Malt Shop to NWACC, serving up burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream for students and staff.

• Rebuilding with a smile: After losing their previous restaurant in a tornado, NWACC invited the crew to help them open up the new restaurant and serve up the type of food they have been cooking for almost two decades..

Bentonville Public Library Prepares for Four-Week Closure to Complete Expansion

The Bentonville Public Library will be closed for four weeks from September 29 to October 27 as it moves into its new expansion and reorganizes existing spaces.

• Out with the old: During the closure, staff will be moving and reorganizing over 150,000 items in the collection to ensure better access for patrons in the new spaces. 

• In with the new: The expansion includes a larger youth services area, a makerspace and digital lab, and a new community meeting room. A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony will be held on October 30.

Annual Benton County Fair Kicks Off This Week

The Benton County Fair, an annual celebration of community, agriculture, and good old-fashioned fun in Arkansas starts this Friday and runs through Sep 28.
