High Interest Rates Halt Home Sales, But Prices and Rent Still Increase in NWA

High interest rates have caused a slowdown in home sales in Northwest Arkansas, according to the latest Skyline Reports. However, rent and home prices remain on the rise.

• Impact: Home sales decreased 8.8% while apartment vacancy rates decreased to 2.2%, despite 1,661 new apartments opening in the past year.

• On the rise: Home prices in Benton and Washington Counties have increased by 77.1% and 67%, respectively, over the past 5 years.
