Tree's the Thing: Extended heat and drought trigger a survival response from trees, causing their leaves to change color and drop. Earlier-than-expected color change does not mean trees are dying, though.

Beleaf It: Peak fall foliage typically arrives in Northwest Arkansas in early November, but local meteorologists expect the drought could push peak foliage up a bit, likely to mid-to-late October. Keep that in mind as you plan your fall foliage drives through the Ozarks this year!
