Welcoming Week NWA returns this September with events designed to bring neighbors together, build connections, and celebrate the places shared across Northwest Arkansas.
Let's Connect: The Teen Volunteer Fair kicks things off at the Bentonville Public Library on Wednesday, Sep 2, from 4-6p. Teens and families will meet local nonprofits, explore volunteer and internship opportunities, and find ways to make a difference in the local community.
Serve and Socialize: Welcoming Week NWA will host the Veterans Appreciation Drive on Friday, Sep 11 from 8a-9:30a at Springdale Public Library, in observance of National Day of Service and remembrance. Hear from local veterans and contribute to a collection drive benefiting Arkansas Veterans Village. Then, Join a Club Crawl will happen at the Rogers Public Library on Thursday, Sep 17, from 4-6p, connecting residents with local clubs and groups.

Development
Affordable Housing Community in Fayetteville
The 7hills Homeless Day Center property in Fayetteville will become a 60-unit affordable housing community.
The Project: The project will feature a three-story, garden-style community with 60 affordable rental homes and 138 bedrooms. It will serve households earning at or below 30%, 50%, and 60% of the area median income.
Next Steps: 7hills will continue offering day services at its Walker Campus in Fayetteville and plans to have strategic partnerships to keep those services going. The move will support its goals of expanding access to housing, strengthening supportive services, growing workforce development efforts, and helping individuals and families build long-term stability in NWA.

A New Protein Shake Spot Softly Opens
Fresh Monkee, a national protein shake chain, softly opened its first Arkansas location in NWA earlier this week.
Monkee See: The new shop is located on Mall Ave in Fayetteville in a shopping center that includes Phat Tire Bike Shop, Old Pine Coffee Roasters, and several other businesses.
Monkee Do: The menu will feature around 30 high-protein, low-sugar shake options, made with real fruits and vegetables, plus a Puppy Shake for dogs. Operating hours will be Monday-Saturday from 7a-6p. Sunday hours are to be determined. The store is offering 50% off all shakes through today, Aug 28!
