Bend Advisors Presents Inaugural Formation Award for Entrepreneurship to Onyx Coffee Lab Founders
Earlier this month, Bend Advisors' governing board presented the first-ever Formation Award for Entrepreneurship to Andrea and Jon Allen, founders of Onyx Coffee Lab. The award recognizes entrepreneurs whose work reflects stewardship, risk-taking, and the patient shaping of something lasting, qualities the Allens have embodied since launching Onyx from a single roaster in Springdale in 2012.
Pressure Makes Perfect: The physical award is a specimen of cubic pyrite sourced in partnership with the Houston Museum of Natural Science, a mineral that forms perfect geometric cubes under extreme pressure, without any cutting or polishing. Structure emerging on its own.
Read The Latest: The full story behind the award, the Allens, and why Bend's board chose them is told in the latest issue of the Bend Quarterly.

👋 P.S. Physical copies also available on May 1st at Walker Brothers, Baumans in Little Rock, and Puritan Coffee & Beer.

Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 7-year-old, 54-pound boy with a long face, but a big heart. He is a sweet fellow who is looking for a place where he can get some snuggles and sit in a sunny spot watching the world go by. He has some mobility issues, so he won't be running any trails with you, but he can still climb up into your heart with his big feet, soft floppy ears, and quiet nature. Buddy will be happy to be your porch buddy and sofa surfer!
