Fayetteville Public Library Hosts Inspiring Writers Weekend

Fayetteville Public Library is inviting writers and aspiring authors to spark their creativity during Writers Weekend, happening Saturday, Apr 18, and Sunday, Apr 19.

  • Learn From Local Pros: Attendees can choose from 10 sessions led by local writing and publishing experts. On Saturday, Apr 18, three 90-minute sessions will run simultaneously throughout the day, covering writing, publishing, and poetry. Advance registration is required to reserve a spot.

  • Connect and Create: Breaks between sessions offer time to mingle with fellow writers and browse books from Pearl’s Books, featuring works by session presenters. Sunday, Apr 19, brings a drop-in Blackout Poetry program and an Open Mic Session, with pre-registration required for performers but open attendance for all.

Dining In The Dark Makes Its Return

Dining In The Dark returns to Fayetteville, happening at Mockingbird Kitchen on Thursday, Apr 23, at 6p.

  • Plot Twist: Guests will be served a five-course tasting menu from Chef Chrissy Sanderson, while blindfolded. The evening is designed to shift focus to taste, smell, and texture, with guidance from World Services for the Blind’s staff throughout the meal.

  • For A Good Cause: The event helps raise awareness and funds for programs that empower people who are blind or visually impaired to live and work independently, both in Arkansas and around the world.
