Next steps are underway at the former Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, where a STEM-focused university and a mixed-use development are taking shape.
STEMming With Potential: The school officially named its first President, Dr. David Mazyck, who hails from Penn State, to prepare students to excel in an AI-and-tech-forward workforce. The inaugural class is expected to begin in 2029.
More To Come: Site work has already begun, with plans to transform the property into the STEM university, along with office space, a hotel, retail offerings, and more.

Adult Rec Center To Open In Bentonville
Bentonville is preparing to welcome residents ages 50 and up to its brand-new Adult Recreation Center, set to open this summer.
All-In-One: The two-story, 45K sqft facility features social lounges, a coffee and snack bar, activity rooms, a full-size strength and cardio area, group fitness studio, indoor track, basketball courts, a warm-water therapy pool, and more.
Active In Community: Modeled after similar spaces in Fayetteville, Springdale, and Rogers, the center offers a dedicated place for older adults to stay active, connect, and help ease pressure on other gyms in the region.
